The Community Development Department is responsible for the physical development of the City. The Department has a staff of eighty employees and an annual budget of $39.6 million. Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning, architecture, civil engineering, public administration, business administration, or a related field and ten years of increasingly responsible urban planning, civil engineering, or architecture experience, including three years of management and administrative responsibility would be a typical way to obtain the required knowledge. A Master’s degree and AICP certification is desirable. The salary range for this position is $126,541 – $165,770 with an excellent executive benefit package. Additionally, the State of Nevada does not have an income tax.
