Located in San Mateo County, the City of San Bruno (pop. 42,650) is known as the “City with a Heart.” The community takes pride in its diversity and is located just 12 miles south of San Francisco, offering a small-town atmosphere within a large metropolitan setting. The Community and Economic Development Department is responsible for planning the physical development of the community and ensuring it is completed in compliance with City and State laws.

The City seeks a dynamic and knowledgeable community development professional with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. With an understanding of the planning challenges and legal framework facing California cities, they will know what it takes to deliver high quality projects in the Bay Area. Five years of progressively responsible community and/or economic development experience and a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in urban planning, public or business administration or related field are expected.
